Middle School Sex Ed (a.k.a. It’s Amazing I Ever Had Kids)

Thankful for the schools’ efforts around the #prepuberty #health talks…but tonight’s homework fun made me question how the eff I ever had kids. So many good things …#2 down…um…what? “Holes under their underwear”? Holes? Apparently that corresponds to the in-class video which talked about two of the “holes” and had a red X over the third. 😅 #7 across should be BRA, but has room for PMS. 🤗 And my very favorite – #9 has room for deodorant…as in Premenstrual Deodorant. Not quite sure that’s the intended message we’re hoping to send to young ladies in 2020, but here we are. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It should be SYNDROME! Who the hell proofreads this shit? Anyone? At the very least, I hope it wasn’t a woman. 💁🏻‍♀️#pdxmom #pdxparents #pdxwriter

The power of this image, originally posted in The New York Times,  takes my breath away.
What a weight we’re carrying.
“They were not simply names on a list. They were us.”
Generations defined for years to come.
What stories we’ll have to tell.
Sending love to those impacted, those who will continue to be and those who will always be. ❤️
