The Hardest Part About Going Back East?!

…is the adjustment BACK to West Coast time.

Dear heavens!

I’ve had a 5 a.m. wake up call every day since we’ve been back – and this follows a 2:30 a.m. ET wake-up call to come home on Saturday. I’ve also been in bed by 9 p.m. every night. Might as well have a newborn with these hours. Haha.

I will say, though, that the 5 a.m. wake up was realllllllly helpful for my 6 a.m. conference call yesterday. I was worried I wasn’t going wake up in time. No worries. At all. I was already awake, laid out Grace’s clothes for school, made coffee, and answered some email before I had to dial in.

This made me realize that I actually DID adjust to Pacific Time somewhere along the way. I still remember when we first moved here and Gavin and I had trouble adjusting.

Strangely, I wasn’t up late or sleeping later while we were in Disney World. I guess that’s the beauty of a Disney vacation – it’s utterly exhausting (and fun, of course) – and you pretty much go in with a plan to just sleep when you get home. 🙂

I’ll have to pay attention the next time I am in New York for work to see if I do have trouble getting to sleep and waking up in the morning.

I'm Bridget. 37. Mom. Wife. Worker. I lived in Philadelphia (or thisclose to the city) for 35 years. That's all changed. We moved. From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. To Portland, Oregon. Cue minor culture shock.
