Gavin and Grace squealed with delight when they came out and saw this in the morning. I even got my first “Mom! This is SO COOL!” from Gavin.
I made a city scene out of paper in the bay window area.

To the right, I created felt garland.

We got a $25 small tree at Target for which the kids made bead ornaments.

We also used the leftover felt from the garland to make a tree skirt – the kids had fun gluing pom-poms on.

The kids also finger-painted the trees canvases you see flanking the television.

It doesn’t quite match as well as I hoped – I wanted light green and light blue felt garland, but they were sold out. Overall though, it was fun to do and it really gave us a holiday focal point in our main living space.
